Garfield: Comic strip cat Garfield will return to the big screen in an animated movie, with hopes to launch a franchise. Jim Davis created the lazy, lovable feline for a comic strip that began running in 1978 and has inspired numerous television versions, two movies featuring the voice of Bill Murray as Garfield (Garfield: The Movie, above), and three other direct to video films. Austin Powers: Mike Myers is still mulling the possibility of a fourth Austin Powers movie. Jay Roach, who directed the first three installments, says that he and Myers talk about it every time they get together, though he describes the project as being “in a latent phase right now.” Roach says that many ideas have been discussed, but none have stuck yet. The latest installment to date, Austin Powers in Goldmember (above), was released in 2002. [Larry King Now]
Rebel Wilson: After breaking out big in Bridesmaids, followed by standout performances inPitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, Rebel Wilson will star in a romantic comedy. The movie will follow “a cynical young woman who doesn’t believe in love and then wakes up one day to discover that her life has become a romantic comedy.” Wilson recently appeared in How to be Single (above) and Grimsby and is also slated to star in the upcoming Pitch Perfect 3. Sing Trailer: The first full trailer for Sing features a koala bear (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) who owns a theater and decides to host a singing competition to help drum up business. Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane and Scarlett Johansson lead the supporting voice cast. Look for the movie in theaters on December 21. [Movieclips]
