9 Ways Suicide Squad Will Crush Captain America: Civil War

The late, groundbreaking producer Julia Philips referenced the following saying in her book You’ll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again: ‘If you can’t be the best, be first’. By this logic, the cinematic smack-down between Captain America: Civil War and Suicide Squad is already over. Why? Well, Civil War comes out May 6 and Suicide Squad drops August 5.

To that end, considering that the films come out three months apart, this really isn’t a fair fight. We’ll only know which film did better by the box office receipts that are tallied. At present, word of mouth on Captain America: Civil War is quite good. Suicide Squadhas had decent word of mouth, but it seems that there are many things working against it.

First of all, it is has to live up to Heath Ledger’s Joker...

11 Best Spring Break Movies of All Time

Spring Break movies are a unique beast. While there might not be direct research into this, it seems that these films are offshoots of the “beach, blanket, bingo films” from the 1960s. As the genre really seemed to catch fire in the late 1970s and then in the 80s, the connection between the two is actually more acute than one might think.

The beach movies of the 1960s were simple, fun and represented All American values. The spring break movie, truthfully, hailing more from the 1980s than the 70s, are similar in that their characters are looking for fun and a good time. However, spring break films have a devilish side, and that makes for many moments of boobs and butts that my generation has never forgotten. Yes, when you have a Spring Break movie, you can expect to see some sex!

“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favorite part of our street level saga, and we share our viewers’ excitement in bringing her intoMarvel’s Iron Fist. As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”

Green Lantern Isn't Coming to The CW Anytime Soon

Back in March, it was teased that The CW’s new DC Comics TV series Legends of Tomorrow will be introducing a new character from the comics in the Season 1 finale. Just a few weeks later, it was revealed that Suits star Patrick J. Adams has come aboard to play this mysterious character, who was later rumored to be both Booster Gold and Green Lantern. As it turns out, both of those reports were wrong, with the season finale, which aired last night, revealing the actor as DC hero Hourman. Just hours before the finale aired, though, executive producer Marc Guggenheim made it clear that there are no future plans for Green Lantern to appear in the DC TV universe.

Shortly after the Booster Goldrumor surfaced in March, another report claimed Patrick J...

Mark Ruffalo Promises Hulk Will Be “Hulk-ier” in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

26

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Late last week we heard that Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban would be joining the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, which already included the returning Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba, as well as new additions Tessa Thompson and Cate Blanchett.

Mark Ruffalo is also starring in the movie as Hulk, though we still don’t have an official idea about how he and his fellow Avenger Thor might be hooking up. We got a small clue from Marvel head Kevin Feige recently, when he confirmed that Natalie Portman would not be returning for the third installment in the Thor series because “there are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie,” with most of the story taking place “in the cosmos.”

Now Ruffalo has provided further hints about the movie, telling Entertainment Tonig...

Watch: When the Actors In Michael Bay’s ’13 Hours’ Met the ‘Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’

24

When people think of Michael Bay movies, the think of fancy cars and explosions and whirling CGI and sometimes fancy cars that turn into whirling CGI explosions. But there’s another core aspect to Michael Bay movies that most people overlook. He’s very patriotic, with an unapologetic, deep admiration of the American military.

Most of the time this just comes in the form of his movies having a few military characters or vehicles on display. Sometimes it gets a bit more overt, as it did with his most recent movie,13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. This isn’t Transformers-mode Michael Bay. It’s much closer to The Rock. It’s all about highly skilled men just doing their job, which in this case happens to involve some guns and explosions.

If the title somehow didn’t give it away, 13 H...
